Chapter 1

My husband's hand was still warm on my waist when I saw her—my twin sister, in his penthouse, wearing my missing wedding ring, holding a toddler with his eyes.

The champagne glass slipped from my fingers and shattered on the marble floor.

Three years of marriage. Three years of believing I was the only Mrs. Colton Blackwell. Three years of failed fertility treatments, crying alone in clinic waiting rooms while he "traveled for work."

And here was the answer to every unanswered question—standing in pink silk pajamas in my husband's secret apartment, bouncing a child on her hip like she'd done it a thousand times.

"Sienna." My twin sister smiled, not even surprised. "You're early."

I looked at Colton. He didn't deny it. He didn't apologize. He simply loosened his tie and said, "Sit down, Sienna. Let me explain."

But there was nothing to explain. The child had his jaw, his dark curls, and my sister's lazy, feline smile. The math was brutal—this baby was at least two years old, which meant Colton had been sleeping with my twin sister since before our first anniversary.

"How long?" My voice came out like broken glass.

Colton reached for me. "Sienna—"

"HOW LONG?"

My sister, Scarlett, set the toddler down on the couch and tilted her head, the way she always did when she was about to say something devastating.

"Since the rehearsal dinner, actually." She twisted my wedding ring on her finger. "He came to my room the night before your wedding. Funny, right? You were downstairs writing your vows."

The floor tilted beneath me. I grabbed the doorframe, my knuckles white.

Colton stepped toward me, his face arranged into the concerned-husband expression I'd trusted for three years. "It's not what you think. Scarlett and I—it started as a mistake. But the baby changed everything."

"A mistake that lasted three years?"

"I was going to tell you. I was looking for the right time."

"The RIGHT TIME?" I laughed—a raw, ugly sound. "When, Colton? On our anniversary? During my egg retrieval? When I was sobbing in the bathroom because I thought my body was broken?"

Something flickered across his face. Guilt? Or was it irritation?

Scarlett picked up the toddler again, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "His name is Asher. Asher Blackwell. Colton put him in the family trust six months ago."

The family trust. The one Colton told me was "restructured for tax purposes." The one I'd signed papers for without reading because I trusted my husband.

I stared at the child—this little boy who had my blood running through his veins from both parents. My husband's son. My nephew.

"I want a divorce."

The words came out calm, almost clinical. Years of acting training—before Colton convinced me to quit—finally paying off.

Colton's expression hardened. "No."

"Excuse me?"

"I said no, Sienna. Sit down. We're going to discuss this like adults."

He grabbed my wrist—not gently. His fingers pressed into the exact spot where a bruise from last week's "accident" was still fading.

"You don't get to leave me," he said quietly, his voice dropping to that low register that used to make me feel safe. Now it made my blood freeze.

"You signed a prenup. You walk out that door, you leave with nothing. No money. No house. No career—because let's be honest, you haven't worked in three years."

"That was YOUR idea—"

"And your name is still on the Moretti project contracts. Walk away, and I'll make sure the SEC investigation lands on YOU, not me."

My vision blurred. The Moretti project—Colton's real estate development that I'd unknowingly signed off on. He'd told me they were permit applications.

Scarlett watched us with a satisfied smirk, rocking the baby. "Stay for dinner, sis. Rosa made your favorite."

Rosa. My housekeeper. She knew too.

Everyone knew.

I yanked my wrist free and walked toward the elevator, my heels clicking against the cold floor.

"Sienna!" Colton's voice echoed behind me. "If you walk out, I will destroy you. I'll tell everyone what you really are."

I stopped. Turned.

"What I really am?"

His smile was slow, cruel, and completely unfamiliar.

"A woman no one will ever believe."

The elevator doors closed on his face, and I collapsed against the wall, shaking so hard my teeth chattered.

My phone buzzed. A text from an unknown number:

"Check your husband's cloud storage. Folder named 'Insurance.' You'll want to see what he has on you before you do anything stupid."

"—A friend."
